Recurve Bow – Traditional Archery

Our daughter started with a toy bow from the RenFest and graduated up to a small compound bow.  While it isn't a Black Widow PX, she has now started with a Cabela Ranger Recurve Bow  in a right hand 62:, 25# setup.  but then decided that the PSE NightHawk was better, in a right hand 62" 25# setup.  We started with what we were given, which was the Cabela's Stalker Extreme 4 L/W feathers arrows, 340, 65/80, 9.3 GPI, with 5/16" 75 gr. easy pull field points in a 31.5" uncut length.  We found they were too long and heavy, and swapped them out for Stalker Extreme 45-65, in 29.25" length, 500, 7.3 GPI, with 75 grain, 9/32" diameter bullet points.  We use a hay bale with  a Morrell Target.  We have a finger guard and ketoh arm guards.  She is also experimenting with the much lighter 28" Beman ICS Hunter Junior arrows, which are 7.3 GPI and 600, feather fletched.  PSE recommends Razorback or Desparado arrows at 30" and 800 spine for up to 40 lbs.  Replacement limbs can be ordered from any retailer or from 800-824-8261 drop shipped to  your location. Cabela's Stalker Xtreme™ Arrows Feathers, Per 6 Outfitted with 4" feathers, tradition meets technology Microsmooth surface finish is quiet and easy on rest and targets Added mass for better kinetic energy Straightness factor to ±.003" We started with our customer-favorite Stalker Extreme shafts, improved the straightness factor to ±.003'', and then outfitted each with 4” feathers to come up with an arrow you can count on for consistent, reliable performance with broadheads and field points alike. The high-strength carbon-composite fibers and unidirectional, carbon-filled core contribute to each arrow's light weight and professional-grade performance.

Rattlesnake Bites in Horses

We had quite a Colorado adventure at the hunt yesterday.  It was at a different more rural fixture, where there are few gates, and no cell phone or internet.  We only hunt there once a year, so it is also easy to be a little off on directions.  And there was only 8 in the field.  We were a long way from the trailers and Lauren and I had just asked permission to leave the field, as she hurt her finger when Snickers took a stumble.  We were alone just our daughter and I. Anyway, on the way back, Snickers got bite by a Western diamondback rattlesnake.  We thought he just stepped on the snake as it slithered off, rattling.  But then Snickers went to raising his foot and was immediately lame and after 30 minutes of trying to hand walk him back, he couldn't move, could barely breathe, and was really close to dying. We were still a long way from the trailer. Luckily, I was able to back to him with the trailer, as our daughter bravely waited by herself.  I encourage all horse owners living in the West to read this article, so you can know what to do a little better than we did, but I figured that a tourniquet, sucking the venom out, and/or lacerating the wound were all out of date recommendations, as I knew they were for bird dogs. He is doing well, following his antivenin and is expected to make a full recovery, following his antibiotics and other treatments. Read the article please, it might help save your horse. I was surprised at how severe a reaction it was, as I heard that horses getting bitten in the

Whitening Spray for Grey or Paint Horses

For keeping grey or paint ponies white, some swear by Orvus + blueing + oxyclean in water; rinse; ketchup soak; rinse; leave in conditioner. We like to use 1/3 wintergreen alcohol to 2/3 water in a spray bottle, with a few drops of cowboy magic shampoo into the bottle, is equally as good as any of the green spot removers. It's inexpensive, easy and very effective!

NATO Rolex Watch Bands-Rolex Milsub

Don't schedule quality time.  Wear it! The Rolex Submariner Ref. 6538 in its most iconic scene in Bond history, Goldfinger.  For all the Bond watches check out this great site.  https://www.timepiecechronicle.com/features/2017/8/30/in-depth-all-the-watches-of-james-bond-casino-royale-to-spectre Rolex started their relationship with the military in 1954, when they supplied the British Royal Navy with around 50 examples of their ref. 6538, or, the Bond Submariner.  Enter the Rolex Milsub.  The Rolex Military Submariner is an incredibly rare watch that Sean Connery made famous in many James Bond Movies. The military's use of the watch suggested a redesign of the bezel, with its existing coin style edging proving difficult for Navy divers to turn while wearing gloves. And the second was the standard spring bars attaching the bracelet, a potentially disastrous point of weakness. Rolex addressed both issues, resulting in the A/6538 which was supplied only to the Royal Navy. These pieces, the first of what would become known as the Military Submariners, or Milsubs, were joined a few years later by the updated ref. 5512. Other than that, the only difference between the civilian and military issue watches were the fixed bars for the strap on the Navy’s model. In the 1970s, the MOD once again called on Rolex to supply their elite special forces personnel with a dive watch, to replace the Omega 300 Seamasters the SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) had been using.  Between 1972 and 1979, around 1200 of these either modified or else specially created pieces made their way to the Royal Navy and British Army storerooms.  The first of the three references, the ref. 5513, was customized from the civilian version in some models by the addition of oversized sword or Gladiator hands to give greater visibility.

Berbere (Ethiopian Seasoning Blend)

Berbere is the flavor backbone of Ethiopian cooking, a cuisine built around heavily seasoned meats and stews served with a spongy flatbread.  It translates well to Southwestern cooking and we just picked up a huge bag from Pasqual's in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Berbere works as dry rub for meats, a seasoning for stews, lentils and grains — even as a tableside condiment.  As with so many traditional seasoning blends, what goes into berbere varies from chef to chef but most versions begin with a base of ground chiles, ginger, fenugreek, cumin, cloves, coriander, cardamom, black pepper and salt. The good news is that you don’t need to know squat about Ethiopian food (though it’s totally worth getting to know) to enjoy berbere. Here are some of my favorite uses: • Blend a can of tomato paste with honey, salt and as much berbere as you can handle. It makes the best barbecue sauce. • Sprinkle just a bit into the cheese sauce of your favorite mac and cheese. The smoky, spicy change will blow you away. • Use it straight up as a dry rub for baby back ribs, steaks on the grill — even for oven-roasted chicken. • Sauté minced onions and garlic with vegetable oil, stirring in berbere. Thin with more oil or with broth, buy rhinocort online. • Blend with softened butter then spread over hot-off-the-grill corn on the cob. Or add minced garlic and use for garlic bread. • Add a bit to the pot when browning meat for a beef stew. Or sprinkle just a pinch over a bowl of chicken soup. • Mix just a bit into prepared pasta sauce, or mix it directly into meatballs. • Add a bit to

Types of Hay for Weight Gain in Horses and Vitalix

Earlier this decade, Colorado and the Western States were plaqued with wild fires and, after several years of drought, hay prices skyrocketed.  It was just a few years ago that most of Colorado hay went to other states which were rampent with fires, draught and tornados, such as Kansas and Oklahoma.   But now after two years of very wet summers, hay prices should have returned to normal, but that never seems to occur.  It seems that growers and suppliers get used taking higher profit margins, in part to make up for bad years and in part from lack of consumers to demand lower prices. There are many different forms of hay, the best of which are Mountain Grass and Timothy.  Alfalfa is great for putting weight on horses and is cheap to feed but we have buying phentermine online. The most common form of hay is the small square bale, which can weigh approximately 45 to 100 pounds each.  The weight depends on how they're baled, type of hay and moisture content.  Compressed bales are also increasingly seen. We have found All-Species Vitalix (125 lb. tub for $65 in 2016) to be great for putting weight on hunt horses or polo ponies in pasture, where feeding grain or pellets is often more difficult.  Feeding a scoop a day of pellets from ProAdvantage® Grass Formula Diet Balancer by Progressive Nutrition, topped with 1/2 cup of corn oil.
