This is a quick and easy recipe you make the night before from Edie.
INGREDIENTS
- 6 slices bread
- 1 lb. sausage (can also substitute ham)
- 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese (we like Brie or whatever you have on hand)
- 6 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1 t. dry mustard (can substitute mustard from a jar)
- 1 t. salt
- dash pepper
- (we like to kick up with a dash Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of red pepper flakes, and dash of Tabasco sauce and some chopped Hatch green chiles)
Tear the 6 slices of bread into small cubes. Beat eggs slightly. Brown the sausage and drain. Mix all the ingredients. Pour into a greased casserole and store overnight in the refrigerator.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Do not overbake. Should be puffy and brown around the edges.
