    This a favorite of ours, inspired from Pat and Mary Scanlan’s fabulous dinner parties.  What could be more lovely of a starter?  Simply serve on a bed of fresh greens with a side of horseradish sauce and spicy cocktail sauce, with a few lemons for garnish:

    • a dozen oysters on the half-shell
    • stone crab claws
    • cooked, jumbo cocktail shrimp
    • caviar
    • smoked whitefish or trout
    • blue crab pieces
