Steffie’s Skinny Smoothie because nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Makes 64 Oz (size of my Vitamix blender filled to the rim), enough to fill 3 of my 22 Oz shaker bottles.

2 containers of muscle milk or premier protein shake as my liquid base (25-30 g of protein per container -vanilla or chocolate flavor preferred, I use chocolate)

Stuff container 2/3 full with Costco Power Greens/Brussels sprouts (I like the Ready Veggies from Trader Joe’s too, I dump the whole bag in there)

1 scoop of Flaxseed

1 scoop of hemp hearts

1 squirt of MCT oil

1 small avocado

1 handful of nuts

1 jalapeno

1 large piece of ginger

A handful of berries

A handful of baby carrots (when I know you are not drinking it)

Some kind of sweet fruits (mango, peach, cantaloupe, watermelon, whatever is in season that I have on hand)

2-4 Medjool dates (as a sweetener if I don’t have any seasonal sweet fruits)

I add cooked beets sometimes

If it gets too thick, add water to thin it out

Martha Stewart’s take on beet juice involves adding beet powder to her famous daily morning green juice. Recommended by her cardiologist, this addition boosts circulation and heart health. [1, 2]

Here is her exact heart-healthy morning juice routine:

Ingredients:
  • 1 scoop or sprinkle of beet powder
  • 1 large bunch of washed/drained spinach
  • 4 stalks of celery with leaves (homegrown preferred)
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 1 bunch of fresh flat-leaf parsley (she likes “lots” of it)
  • 1 small bunch of fresh mint
  • 1 piece (about 2-inches) of unpeeled fresh ginger
  • 1 unpeeled orange or orange peel
Directions:
  1. Juice: Press all the whole, fresh ingredients through a high-quality juicer (like her go-to Breville Juicer).
  2. Mix: Stir the beet powder thoroughly into the freshly pressed green juice.
  3. Serve: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
