Veryl Goodnight is legendary amongst the seasoned hunters of the Arapahoe Hunt, where she and her husband hunted for several years. She is a sculptor and artist out of Colorado, know for her horse and wildlife scenes. I was fortunate to have won the Mercer Trophy for which she created a stunning sculpture which sat atop the memorable award. She did another great piece on George Beeman and the Arapahoe hounds. I met her a few times and was pleased to recently get a copy of her new book, No Turning Back, The Art of Veryl Goodnight. It was fun reading about some of our other Colorado legends that she was acquainted with, as was I, such as Ben Nighthorse Campbell.
