Ingredients:
* 2 sushi-grade ahi tuna steaks (about 6-8 oz
each)
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 tablespoon sesame oil
* 1 teaspoon kosher salt
* 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
* 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
* 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
* 1 tablespoon soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
* 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
* 1 green onion, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Pat tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
2. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, and
sesame seeds.
3. Lightly brush tuna steaks with olive oil and
sesame oil.
4. Press the seasoning mixture evenly onto all
sides of the tuna.
5. Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over
high heat until very hot.
6. Sear tuna for 45-60 seconds per side,
including the edges, keeping the center rare.
