Gin and tonic is the favorite cocktail at the château  and it never has gone out of style.  Gin is made from juniper berries, which can be wild foraged, but we won’t go into the distilling process here.   Suffice it to say it goes with bird dogs and nearly everything else.

  • 2 oz. gin (preferably Beefeater)
  • tonic water
  • ice
  • slice of lime

Pour gin into a glass 1/4 full of ice cubes and fill with tonic water.  Garnish with wedge of lime.


For a Southern souped-up version add 1 t. Napoleon brandy.
