This is the recipe for the famous Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies.  Makes a couple dozen, if you can refrain from eating all the batter.

  • ½ c. butter
  • ½ c. vegetable oil
  • ¾ c. dark brown sugar
  • ¾ c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 2 ½ c. cake flour
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 ½ c. chocolate chips

Mix butter, oil and sugars until well blended.  Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.

Stir together flour, baking soda and salt, then mix into the butter/sugar mixture.  Add chocolate chips.  Refrigerate one hour or more.  Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet which has been covered in aluminum foil.  Bake at 300 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
