The three most common types of blood oranges are the Tarocco (native to Italy), the Sanguinello (native to Spain), and the Moro, the newest variety of the three.

My favorite thing to do with blood oranges is to juice them and serve the juice fresh, as is common in Spain and Italy.

Generally available December to April, this is one of our favorites during winter to keep our your vitamin c, and the taste is better than most anything else as far as orange juice goes. We love it.
